Create Your Home Full of Love & Joy for 5786

As Rosh Hashanah approaches, I’ve been asking myself: what do I want my home to feel like in the coming year?

For me, it’s about creating a space filled with love, warmth, and joy — the same feelings I felt at our son Eliyahu's recent wedding and henna celebration. A henna is a lively and meaningful celebration steeped in tradition, filled with excitement, music and dancing. It's celebrated before the wedding to bring good luck, fertility and prosperity to the happy couple. At Eliyahu's, the atmosphere was magical — a beautiful canopy of white, pink, and gold curtains flowed softly. Elegant armchairs with gold velvet cushions framed a comfortable golden bench for Eliyahu and his bride-to-be, Rachel  where they could sit like royalty. Golden candlesticks welcomed us at the entrance to the canopy.

What truly elevates a space and makes it unique is the attention to detail.

The drapery subtly dimmed the overhead lighting, creating a space that felt intimate and luxurious. The gold tea set on a golden tray, the delicious Moroccan pastries and delicacies served on hamsa-shaped trays, and the gold and white Moroccan booties carefully placed on the golden table all combined to create an atmosphere of tradition and elegance.

As Jews, we have a special way of honoring our traditions and culture in our celebrations. Rachel wore our family heirloom dress, made by my great-aunt many years ago.

Those emotions of love, joy, and tradition inspire how I want my home to feel in 5786.

Those moments reminded me that what makes a home truly special is the way it reflects our stories, traditions, and values. It’s the way it welcomes others in with warmth and joy.

Ready to Start The New Year?

As we dip apples in honey and wish for a sweet new year, remember that the best new beginnings often come from taking the cherished traditions of your past and blending them beautifully into your future.

Incorporate elegance, comfort, and personal touches into your home so that all who enter feel a sense of love and joy.

Thank Hashem for all the blessings this year. May this new year bring health, happiness, peace, and amazing new beginnings for all of us.

Wishing you a Shana Tovah U’Metuka
